Before a film can be played, its encrypted media must be downloaded to the device. In Convoy Cinema you start and manage downloads from a film's details screen using the Download control, which turns into a live progress panel while the download runs.
Before you start
- Open the film you want from the Films list.
- The device should have enough free disk space for the film.
- You can track active downloads from the top bar — a "N downloading" badge appears while any download is in progress.
How to download a film
- On the film details screen, click Download.
- The button changes to Starting…, then a progress panel shows the download percentage and status.
- While downloading you can:
- Pause the download and Resume it later.
- Cancel the download.
- Retry if it fails.
- When the transfer finishes, the app shows "Processing file…" and then "Download completed successfully!".
- Once complete, the Download button is replaced by Play, and the film now appears under the Downloaded Films tab.

Download states
| State | Meaning |
|-------|---------|
| Starting… | The download is being initialised. |
| Downloading (with %) | Transfer in progress; pause/cancel available. |
| Paused | You paused it; use Resume to continue. |
| Processing file… | The downloaded file is being finalised/decrypted for playback. |
| Completed | Ready to play. |
| Failed | An error occurred; use Retry. |
Common errors
- "Download failed" / "Failed to start download" — check the network connection and free disk space, then use Retry.
- If a download appears stuck, Cancel it and start again.
After downloading
- To play the film you still need a valid KDM key — see Playing a Film with Player Controls.
- To free up space, delete the film from its details page or from the Films list — see Browsing Films.
